Welcome to the funhouse

Here it is, and here I am. My wonderful husband has been after me to start a blog for a while - he thinks that I could maybe use an outlet other than him, long distance most days. To fill in some background: I am 38, have a phenomenal husband, Dave, and 4 kids. Kyle is 20, fresh out of college and on his own for the first time. Jonathan is 5 1/2, Natalia is 3 1/2, and Tatiana is 1 1/2. I am a stay at home mom, and I babysit for two to four kids each day. Basically, my home is like an asylum, and while I pretend I'm the warden, there's very little point to denying that I am instead the oldest inmate. Dave works in another lunatic arena, as a commercial pilot for one of the (fewer each day) major airlines left in America. If you've flown in the last couple of years, you know the madness to which I refer. He claims it's about the same as being home with the kids, and lately, I almost buy his sob story. So, he and I are well-matched as far as levels of nuttiness in our jobs, but we have opposite desires when work is done. He just wants to come home, and I just want to get the hell out of the house! He misses the kids, me and the home front and I just want to go anywhere (ANYWHERE) where there are no kids, cartoons, bright-colored cereal or crayons.

This is an overview of my situation today. Maybe I'll go deeper into details on different aspects each day, or maybe I'll ramble on. I'm new at this, so I'll feel my way as I go. 'Til tomorrow...
